Best bets for the weekend in and around Durango

Best bets this weekend in Durango include breakfast with Santa on Saturday at McDonald’s and the third annual SantaCon event on Sunday.

Santa will arrive in Durango via helicopter at 8 a.m. Saturday for a breakfast event held until 10 a.m. at McDonald’s, 201 W. College Drive.

Breakfast will include all-you-can-eat pancakes for $1, or 79 cents with a canned food item, toy or blanket donation for Project Merry Christmas.

Durango’s SantaCon will return for its third year from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Carver Brewing Co., 1022 Main Ave.

The event starts with a canned-food drop-off at Carver’s and then features a costume contest and prizes. At 6 p.m., people will hit the streets for a pub crawl to spread Durango-style holiday cheer throughout downtown.
