Cam Hooley of the San Juan National Forest Service will speak to Rotary Club of Durango about the 416 Fire at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Strater Hotel, 699 Main Ave.
The talk will include a slideshow with facts and photos about suppression of the 416 Fire, how the Forest Service reduces harm to natural resources during and after and a peek into the future of the burned area.
Hooley had been acting Public Affairs Officer for the Forest Service when the fire started. She has also been the environmental coordinator for the Columbine Ranger District for more than 16 years.
