New nonprofit to help youths with finances
Gervais & Associates CPAs and financial coach Allison Andersen announce the formation of Know Your Dough Inc., a nonprofit organization designed to inspire local youths to begin their path toward financial literacy and independence.
The nonprofit’s first financial-literacy program will be held from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 5 to 8 at the Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave. Ages 14 to 18 are welcome.
The $50 program will feature The Money Game, a proven way to learn strong personal-finance habits, and includes lunch each day from local restaurants. Participants will receive completion gift certificates and draw for a free iPad.
