The Skyhawks sought out secondary help, and they found it in a pair of cornerbacks from California.
The Fort Lewis College football team announced the signings of Theodore Chambers and Aaron Williams on Monday.
Both players started for the Cerritos College Falcons in 2013 and have signed on with the Skyhawks to continue their playing careers.
Williams stands at 5-10 and 175-pounds, He played in 11 games for the Falcons last season when he recorded 24 tackles and had five interceptions.
“Aaron is a legit corner,” FLC head coach John L. Smith said in a press release. “He has speed and skill enough to shut down receivers one-on-one.”
Williams, a native of Compton, Calif., played for Northern Arizona and returned kicks his freshman season before transferring to Cerritos College. He sat out his first year with the Falcons after receiving a red shirt, but he took advantage of his playing time in 2013 when he had one forced fumble to go with the five interceptions.
Chambers is a 6-0, 175-pound player from Carson Calif. He spent two seasons with Cerritos College and recorded 64 tackles, three forced fumbles and an interception during that time.
“Theo has skill enough to be a corner and range enough to be a safety,” Smith said. “He and Aaron Williams are both very good players that will solidify our secondary.”
