DHS marching band to perform at bowl game

Dennis Costella, 16, plays the mellophone, followed by Triston Dye, 16, playing the trombone, as the Durango High School marching band plays during the DHS Homecoming Parade on Main Avenue. The band will play at the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, Texas, on Jan. 2 when Kansas State meets UCLA.

The Durango High School marching band has been invited to perform Jan. 2 at the Valero Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, Texas.

The 50-member band, under the direction of Katharine Reed, will perform at half-time with bands from across the country.

Reed has led the band for five years.

The college football game will feature the UCLA Bruins vs. the Kansas State Wildcats.
