Great Decisions program announces 2020 schedule

The 2020 Great Decisions International Affairs Discussion Program will begin with a moderator-led discussion on the topic of “Climate Change and Global Order” from 11:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Tuesday at Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave., and Thursday at Bayfield Public Library, 395 Bayfield Center Dr., Bayfield.

Great Decisions meets every other week thereafter. Programs are open to the public, free of charge.

The Durango discussions will be led by a series of moderators. The Bayfield programs will all be led by Dr. Robert Han Bishop. The topics and dates are as follows: D=Durango and B=Bayfield

Tuesday (D)/Thursday (B): Climate change and the global order.

Feb. 10 (D)/Feb. 12 (B): China’s road into Latin America.

Feb. 18 (D): Preventive diplomacy: America’s foreign service in the 21st Century by Laurie K. Meininger.

Feb. 24 (D)/Feb. 26 (B): Red Sea security.

March 10 (D)/ March 12 (B): Modern slavery and human trafficking.

March 24 (D)/March 26 (B): U.S. relations with the Northern Triangle.

April 7 (D)/April 9 (B): India and Pakistan.

April 21 (D)/April 23 (B): The Philippines.

May 5 (D)/May 7(B): Artificial intelligence and data.
