Center of Southwest Studies will host a presentation from Gregory Hobbs, “John Wesley Powell: Scientist, Poet & Botched Politician,” at 5:30 p.m. Friday in the Student Union Ballroom at Fort Lewis College.
On the 150th anniversary of Powell’s first Colorado River run, retired Justice Hobbs of the Colorado Supreme Court will revisit Powell’s journeys into the Colorado River Plateau, and his genius as a firsthand leading spokesperson of the Western experience.
