An hour-long seminar about Colorado water law will be offered from 5 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at First National Bank of Durango, 259 W. Ninth St., in the community conference room. A networking social with light refreshments will start at 4:30 p.m. before the seminar.
Attorney and former state senator, Ellen Roberts, and senior partner in the Trout Raley Denver water law firm, Peggy Montaño, will present the seminar to educate professionals in the complex area of water law.
The session will discuss how Colorado water law was developed, explain how land use and water policy intersect, and provide practical considerations for professionals who deal with real estate transactions. Attendees will also learn about resources and tools they can use to educate themselves on the subject.
