Durango High School to host Demons Resolution Run

Durango High School will host the Demons Resolution Run 5K at 3 p.m. and 1-mile fun run at 4 p.m. Dec. 31 beginning at Mercy Regional Medical Center at Three Springs, 1010 Three Springs Blvd.

The course will use the roads and bike paths in Three Springs. The race will help support athletics and activities at DHS. 5k participants will receive a cold-weather beanie to show Demon pride.

Registration is now open online at www.runsignup.com/Race/CO/Durango/DurangoResolutionRun. Online registration will close at 5 p.m. Dec. 30. Registration costs are $15 through Dec. 20, $20 through Dec. 30 and $25 on race day from 1 to 2:15 p.m. The 1-mile fun run is free. Packet pickup will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. race day.

Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each age group and overall in the 5K. A special traveling trophy will be awarded to the 9-R school that has the most entrants (by percent).

Volunteers are needed for packet pickup, start/finish setup and tear down, aid stations and course marshals.
