Tuesdays, 2 p.m.: Baby Storytime. For infants to 18 months. Music, stories, fingerplays, counting rhymes and playtime. Babies should bring their parents or caregivers.

Thursdays, 10:30 a.m.: Toddler Storytime. Stories, songs, rhymes and other fun activities for children ages 2-3. Storytime lasts about 30 minutes with a craft afterwards.

Fridays, 10:30 a.m.: Preschool Storytime. Stories, songs, rhymes, and other activities perfect for children ages 3-5. Storytime lasts about 30 minutes with a craft afterwards.

Saturdays, 8:30 a.m.: Demonstration Garden Tour with a docent. Weather permitting, there will be a docent on duty every Saturday at the gardens behind Durango Public Library.

July 9, 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.: Summer Reading Show. Ann Lincoln will present a fun blend of magic, comedy and animal helpers. Free and open to the public.

July 9, 6 p.m.: Adult Board Game Night. Find your gaming people and discover new board games.

July 10, 10 a.m.: Fired Up Stories. Join firefighters and EMTs from the Durango Fire and Rescue Authority for stories and safety tips. Storytime lasts about 45 minutes.

July 10, 2 p.m.: Great Garden Series. Create rock art with Melissa Kizior.

July 11, 1 p.m.: T(w)een Time: Far Out Trivia. Questions will cover space-themed movies, music, facts and more. Prizes for first and second place and snacks for all. Ages 11–17.

July 12, 9:30 a.m.–5 p.m.: Friends of the Library book sale.

July 13, 10:30 a.m.: Sensory Storytime. Designed for children on the autism spectrum and families who are looking for a smaller, more adaptive library experience. Storytime is 30 minutes followed by sensory activities.

July 16, 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.: Summer Reading Show: Salida Circus. Salida Circus will present juggling, music, magic and more. Free and open to the public.

July 16, 6 p.m.: Off Trail Wilderness Navigation and Staying Found. This course will help you successfully navigate off trail, regardless of the weather, and make adjustments because of avalanche danger, high water and other formidable obstacles. July 18, 1 p.m.: T(w)een Time: Teen Iron Chef. Battle head-to-head with other teens to create a small appetizer, entree and dessert. Prizes for the winning team and runners-up. Limited to the first 24 people. Ages 11–17.

July 19, 1 p.m.: Kids’ Club: Moon Landers. Work as a team to design, build and test a NASA-worthy lander that can deliver astronauts safely on the moon. Ages 5-12.

July 23, 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.: Summer Reading Show: Steve Weeks. Weeks will present an interactive romp filled with music, humor and games. Free and open to the public.

July 24, 2 p.m.: Great Garden Series: Create oversized tissue paper flowers with Daisy Grice.

July 25, 1 p.m.: T(w)een Time: Galaxy Painting. Paint an intergalactic scene on either canvas or wood for a cool effect. Paints and canvases will be provided. Wear clothes that can get messy. Ages 11–17.

July 26, 1 p.m.: Lego Club. Build, create and play with the library’s Lego collection. Ages 5–12.

Mondays, 2 p.m.: Galactic Gamer Club. Celebrate all forms of gaming, tabletop and electronic. All ages welcome.

Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m.: Space Jam Music, finger-plays, games and more for infants and toddlers and their caregivers.

Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m. and Saturdays, 12:30 p.m.: Little Space Explorers. Art and science exploration. Hands-on, process art and simple science experiments for toddlers and preschoolers. Older siblings welcome.

Tuesdays through Fridays, 2 to 4 p.m.: Teen STREAM. Movies, snacks, gaming, cooking experiments, pingpong, disc golf, basketball and more. On Tuesdays, learn how to code.

Mondays, 9 a.m.: Yoga-lates. A combination of yoga and Pilates.

Tuesdays, 9 a.m.: Yoga for all. A class about proper alignment and modifications. All levels are welcome.

Wednesdays, 2 a.m.: Open Art Studio. Open to any level. No instruction provided. The goal is to critique each other’s work, learn from critique and paint in an encouraging environment. Hosted by Susan Brightman and Carol Silldorff.

Thursdays, 8 a.m.: Yoga flow. Learn about postures that create yoga sequences.

July 13, 1 p.m.: Astronaut Training. Take the astronaut training challenge. Meet weekly for training sessions and briefings then head outside to train. Wear comfortable, exercise clothes and good sneakers and bring sunblock and water bottle.

July 15, 6 p.m.: Classic Movie Monday: “The Hustler” (1961).

July 17, 6:15 p.m.: Library’s Board of Trustees regular monthly meeting.

July 18, 9 a.m.: Donuts with the Director. Chat with library Director Shelley Walchak about the library and how it can better meet community needs. Free doughnuts.

July 19, 1 p.m.: Crafternoons. Bring an activity and supplies to share and join in communal crafting.

July 20, 1 p.m.: Summer STREAM Final Party. Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing. The original landing footage will be projected on the big screen. Launch rockets and have fun with hands-on science experiments and arts and crafts projects. Bring a towel and swimsuit for the water features. Free hot dogs and snacks for all. STREAM program prizes with be drawn for children, teens and adults.

July 23, 10 a.m.: Card Making at the Senior Center. Create two beautiful handmade cards. Free.

July 24 10:30 a.m.: Conscious Elder Wisdom Circle. A gathering of elder men and women who understand that a lifetime of experience, lessons learned and knowledge gained, gives them wisdom worth sharing with others. Share and deepen the wisdom learned, enrich the lives of families, friends, community and the world. Elders and soon-to-be-elders are welcome.

July 25, 5:45 p.m.: Living Room Conversations: Freedom. Freedom is a key concept in America’s founding documents, but there are legitimate differing interpretations of what freedom means. Conversations increase understanding, reveal common ground and allow discussion of possible solutions.

July 28, 1 p.m.: Stillwater Musical BBQ in the Park. Music provided by adult bands from Stillwater Music, with a special performance from the Stillwater Telluride All Stars project. Barbecue, lunch, beer and wine available for purchase.

August 1, 7 p.m.: Community Acoustic Music Jam. Open to all levels and ages. The jam provides musicians a chance to learn, share and enjoy playing music with others in an informal setting. Bring a song to lead or play along.

July 20, 11 a.m.: Space Shuttle Program. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing, the library will be hosting Lucinda Lounge, sister of the late astronaut John M. Lounge. Lucinda will share photos, memorabilia and objects that went into space from her brother’s three shuttle missions. All ages welcome.
