Durango Public Library announces January events

Durango Public Library will host these events in January:

Ongoing programs: Weekly activity kits for children and teens every Tuesday through the end of the year (excluding holiday weeks). Kits include the necessary supplies for one child to complete a project and are available for preschool, elementary and teen age levels. Each Tuesday, a new activity kit is released, and are available while supplies last. Stop by during open hours or arrange a curbside pickup by calling 375-3380 or emailing reference@durangogov.org.

Jan. 18: Library closed all day.

Jan. 19, 6 p.m.: DPL Book Club. Join the library for a virtual discussion and share recent reads.

Jan. 25, 6 p.m.: Finding Happiness in the Age of Covid-19. Join Dr. Brian Burke, Fort Lewis College psychology professor and 2020 Best Educator in Durango for a discussion about how to live a good life for the current era. This Zoom program is hosted in collaboration with Pine River Library, Durango Public Library, Ignacio Community Library and the Southwest La Plata Library District. Open to all. Jan. 26, 5 p.m.: 9to5: The Story of a Movement National IL Pop-Up. The previously untold story of the fight that inspired a hit and changed the American workplace. For virtual login information, email spenser.snarr@durangogov.org.
