Motorists should expect slowdowns Wednesday and possibly Thursday on U.S. Highway 160 near Bayfield.
The Colorado Department of Transportation will repair and replace a section of guardrail at the intersection of Highway 160 and La Plata County Road 502, just west of Bayfield. Motorists traveling through the area will see brief full stops and one-lane alternating traffic, according to a CDOT travel advisory.
Work will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and possibly Thursday. A speed reduction will be enforced from 50 mph down to 40 mph. Travelers driving on and off County Road 502 will also encounter delays at the intersection.
“It is important to observe the reduced speed limit and watch for equipment and personnel in the work zone,” the advisory said.
