As new evidence of the dangers of fluoride continues to surface, 208 cities across America and 97 percent of European nations have opted out of the ill-conceived practice of water fluoridation. Unlike all other water-treatment processes, fluoridation does not treat the water itself in order to make it safer for people to drink. Instead, it acts as a drug treating the people consuming the water, without their consent and without the supervision of a doctor or anyone else.
Thirty-six petitions are now circulating in Durango. We have until Jan. 6 to obtain sufficient signatures to place this initiative on the ballot and end fluoridation in Durango on April 4. Make sure you take action and sign a petition now.
We are all being overexposed to fluoride! Go to cleanwaterdurango.org to find a list of petitioners and much more information about the perils of fluoride. If you are still undecided about this important issue, check the Fluoride Action Network to see how children’s brains are being affected by continual low-dose exposures.
If you can’t connect with a petitioner and want to make your voice heard, call me at 247-8534, John Rothchild at 382-7780, Dale Strietzel at 247-3303 or Bob Lieb at 759-9514. Exercise your family’s right to choose whether to be exposed to this powerful toxic industrial waste product. Don’t let someone else make that decision for you.
Fluoride has been classified as a drug by the FDA, and it is being administered to us without our consent. It’s time to change this outdated and dangerous practice. In the name of our children’s health and for our well-being.
