Memorial ride

About 50 motorcyclists participated in a memorial ride Friday for Brianna Lynn Schmittel. Schmittel, 22, died Wednesday in a motorcycle accident west of Hesperus. Members of Survivors MC, Sons of Silence MC, Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, American Iron MC and the Harley Owners Group joined the Hardly Angels, which Schmittel belonged to, on a ride from Santa Rita Park to a memorial in Mancos. “The community comes together well when we have a fallen biker,” said Kathy Thayer, a member of Hardly Angels.
