Last week, several members of the Bayfield High School dance team attended a Universal Dance Association (UDA) summer dance camp at Colorado State University in Fort Collins.
The team performed a routine for the judges and placed second.
The girls went on to learn three dances during three days and performed them during a series of evaluations. All the girls earned blue ribbons on their routines, which is the highest level of recognition. The team was also awarded the Spirit Award and the Most Improved Award. Upcoming Junior, Kelea Damp, was selected for All American. The girls are excited to build off the material they learned at camp and look forward to dancing at sporting events and supporting Bayfield athletics next fall.
The dance team will hold their annual Fourth of July fundraiser after the parade at Joe Stephenson Park. Be sure to look for the girls in the parade and stop by their booth!
