San Juan College will offer free income tax preparation through Four Corners Tax Help beginning Jan. 18.
All services will be offered virtually, with volunteers available by phone, email, mail, a secure portal or through a video meeting.
San Juan College School of Business, Center for Workforce Development, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program and Tax Counseling for the Elderly have partnered to assist those with low to moderate income, people with disabilities, limited English-speaking taxpayers and those 60 years or older to prepare their tax returns, free of charge. IRS certified volunteers will prepare 2020 taxes and file them electronically. They will also prepare prior years and amended returns.
Four Corners Low Income Taxpayer Clinic also offers free tax help to low income taxpayers and limited English-speaking taxpayers who have a dispute with the IRS. Taxpayers must schedule an appointment for their case to be accepted by LITC.
