The San Juan National Forest Fire Program is filling permanent GS-3 through GS-9 fire positions during the Region 2 Fire Hire event.
Positions are available in San Juan National Forest headquarters (Durango): dispatch, interagency hot-shot crew, interagency helitack crew and airtanker base.
Applicants must apply to the specific vacancy announcements listed at www.usajobs.gov.
Announcements will close Aug. 28 at midnight. All applicants are encouraged to apply for the desired duty location and position regardless of whether the position is currently vacant. This is imperative for applicants because vacancies occurring during fire hire will be backfilled on a rolling basis.
