The Durango Hills Road Improvement District (DHRID) Advisory Committee is a fully open, transparent and accessible advisory body that helps La Plata County Commissioners decide how to spend district taxpayer dollars for road maintenance and snow removal in the small neighborhood of Durango Hills.
Recently, the integrity of the committee was questioned in a letter submitted to the paper by Bob Pfeiffer (Herald, Sept. 25).
While the committee understands that Pfeiffer has issues with the Board of County Commissioners, we find it unfortunate that he would levy baseless accusations against the very organization he previously chaired in order to further that goal.
For anyone interested in learning what the DHRID is or how we work, please take a drive around our roads, look at our website (dhrid.silvermesa.net) and attend a meeting.
We’d love to share with you how we work to engage residents as directly as possible in the decision-making processes that affect how their taxpayer dollars are spent.
