The Rotary Club of Durango will welcome to its virtual meeting professor Michael Martin of Fort Lewis College at 6 p.m. Tuesday via Zoom.
Martin is an expert on Irish early medieval history. His talk will include exploring the history versus the legends/myths about St. Patrick as well as Ireland’s first female saint, Brigid. His talk will also encompass how early church development in Ireland differed from in England and on the European continent.
Martin is FLC chairman and professor of history, and professor of gender and women’s studies. He earned his Ph.D. in history at Western Michigan University in 2005.
