Durango Cowboy Gathering to host parade and breakfast

The 31st annual Durango Cowboy Gathering Parade will take place at 10 a.m. Oct. 5 at the Durango & Silverton narrow Gauge Railroad train depot, 479 Main Ave., and proceed up Main Avenue to 12th Street.

The parade is free to enter and open to any entrant that is not motor-propelled. Right before the parade start, there will also be an Old West gunfight just north of the Strater Hotel.

A cowboy chuckwagon breakfast will also take place before the parade from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. on the corner of Fifth Street and Main Avenue. Biscuits, gravy, scrambled eggs and black coffee will be available. Tickets are $10 for adults, children 5 and younger are free. Tickets are available at the wagon, or in advance. Live music will begin at 9:30 a.m. in front of the Main Mall.
