San Juan Regional Medical Center has eased visitor restrictions as of Monday. They have moved from a restricted visitor policy to a limited visitor policy for admitted non-COVID patients.
In an effort to facilitate patients’ healing and keep their health and safety a top priority, non-COVID inpatients will now be allowed one visitor per day between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Visitors will be subject to a health screening upon entrance. All visitors are required to practice proper hand hygiene and wear a cloth face mask. No masks with valves are allowed.
The no visitor policy for COVID patients will continue with the following exceptions, considered on a case-by-case basis:
Parents or legal guardian of minorsVisitors for patients lacking decision-making capacityVisitors for patients near end of lifeVisitors for expectant mothersAny exceptions will be limited to one family member and security will be notified.
The current visitor restrictions in the Emergency Department still stand, and are as follows:
Patients will only be accompanied to the treatment area by a maximum of one adult visitor or family member
Visitors may be asked to complete a health screening
The lobby is reserved for patients waiting to be seen
In order to protect the community from exposure to COVID-19, visitors are encouraged to utilize alternative mechanisms for patient contact, such as FaceTime and Skype, or send an e-card at www.sanjuanregional.com/egreeting.
