Dalton Ranch power restored

The switch box that was overgrown with vegetation that led to a brief power outage Friday morning in the Dalton Ranch subdivision.

A circuit was disrupted at 8:15 a.m., knocking 473 La Plata Electric Association customers around Dalton Ranch out of power.

An accumulation of vegetation in a switch cabinet gathered enough moisture to affect the equipment, agency spokeswoman Indiana Reed said.

A crew found the problem and had power back on at 9:16 a.m., Reed said.
