Snow whites out two RMAC football games

Winter weather hit the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference early this year, and two games scheduled Saturday will be rescheduled because of it.

Snow forced Chadron State to move its homecoming game with Adams State back a day to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, while the game between Western State and Black Hills State in Spearfish, S.D. has been postponed indefinitely.

Colorado Mesa 22, N.M. Highlands 17

LAS VEGAS, N.M. – A late goal-line stand helped Colorado Mesa hold off New Mexico Highlands on Saturday.

The Cowboys (2-3, 1-2 RMAC) accrued 621 yards of offense but were stuffed for the final time when the Mavericks stopped Brandon Johnson on fourth down on their own 3-yard line.

Jake Cimolino led Colorado Mesa (3-2, 2-1 RMAC) with 79 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Western N.M. 25, Colorado Mines 22

SILVER CITY, N.M. – A late rally couldn’t keep Colorado Mines from an upset at the hands of Western New Mexico.

Mitch Glasmann threw for 334 yards to lead the Mustangs (1-3, 1-2 RMAC).

Durango High School alumnus Avery Llewellyn kicked two field goals for Mines (3-2, 2-1 RMAC).
