NEW YORK – Employees at independent bookstores can look forward to another round of holiday bonuses from James Patterson.
The best-selling author said he plans to distribute $250,000, the same amount he gave last year. The gifts, which range from $1,000 to $5,000 per person, are based on nominations submitted by owners, managers, customers and others in the book-selling community.
Applications can be filed starting Wednesday through Nov. 1. Patterson will choose the winners, to be announced in December.
The nomination form can be found on bookweb.org/bonus, the website of the American Booksellers Association.
Patterson said in a statement that the money is his “humble acknowledgment of the important work” done by booksellers.
