La Plata County has become quiet. The days of holding civil political conversations with your neighbors are long gone! Political theatrics have taken over social media, replacing business’ showing support for their party, neighbors showing support for their party. Everyone fears retaliation by someone! Unbelievable.
So here we sit with our latest gizmo in hand writing what we feel with no interaction with another human. Feeling all-powerful, knowing we can criticize anyone at anytime. Hypocrisy has replaced truth and respect. Our words and actions do have consequences. We are nearing an election for La Plata County sheriff. Do your research of each candidate, for honesty, integrity, accountability.
La Plata County needs Charles Hamby, he wants to hear from you eye to eye, not from your latest gizmo. Mr. Hamby’s open-door policy leaves no room for misinterpretation of your concerns.
Others hesitate to comment publicly on concealed carry, raise concerns of upholding the Second Amendment, Mr. Hamby’s response is decisive: The more of our citizens that can legally conceal carry and want to utilize their right to conceal carry, the safer our community is! Law enforcement cannot be everywhere and, as a citizen, you have a right to defend yourself!
We all have choices: Those who make things happen, those who watch things happen and those who wonder what happened. Vote Charles Hamby for La Plata County sheriff and make things happen!
