The city of Durango has announced schedules for the upcoming holiday.
City Administrative Offices will be closed Monday and Tuesday, including offices at City Hall, River City Hall, police station, Parks and Recreation administrative offices and Greenmount Cemetery.Durango-La Plata County Airport will be open as normal with regularly scheduled commercial service Monday and Tuesday. The airport administration office will be closed both days. Travelers are encouraged to arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before scheduled departures. Durango Transit will have no service Monday and Tuesday, with normal service resuming Wednesday. The Transit Center and Transit Center Window will be closed Monday and Tuesday. The Fort Lewis College Morning Commuter Shuttle will discontinue service during FLC’s winter break, which began Dec. 17. Service will resume Jan. 7. Parking: Metered parking will be free Tuesday in the Central Business District in observance of the Christmas holiday. Motorists are reminded that there is no on-street parking in the downtown area between 2 and 5 a.m. anytime. Vehicles parked on the streets downtown between these hours may be ticketed or towed at the owners’ expense. Any city lot may be used after 5 p.m. for free parking overnight. The Durango Public Library: The main library will be closed Monday and Tuesday and will close at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Fort Lewis Mesa and Sunnyside branches will be closed in conjunction with the Durango 9-R school break from Monday to Jan. 4.The Durango Community Recreation Center will be open from 5:30 a.m. until noon Monday, with aquatic areas closing at 11:30 a.m. It will be closed Tuesday and will reopen with regular hours Wednesday.Chapman Hill Ice Rink will be open for public skate Monday from 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. and will be closed Tuesday. The rink will reopen with regular hours Wednesday. Chapman Ski Hill will be closed Tuesday.
