Amendment 68 has scary language

Amendment 68 is a fraud. A casino in Rhode Island is trying to save its failing casino at the cost of Colorado’s constitutional guidelines. The language in the amendment proposes to amend our constitution to build a casino, and the revenue obtained will be collected and “spent notwithstanding and limitations provided by law.” That is the actual wording and is scary. Colorado will not be able to control anything the casino does, and it won’t have to abide by our rules/laws. The constitutional change would open the door for any company from anywhere to move anywhere in Colorado and do whatever it wants.

I’m not willing to give that control to anyone except a Colorado resident guided by our current constitution. I don’t like having a company in Colorado not being accountable to Colorado. The casino is stating that 34 percent of its revenue will go to schools, but with the vague wording, the Denver Public Schools question if any money will actually go to the classroom. Please vote no on 68 and keep Colorado the wonderful state we all love. We don’t want or need outside control.
