The San Juan National Forest Columbine Ranger District plans to burn slash piles in the Sauls Creek area as weather allows, starting Thursday. Piles to be burned are the result of recent thinning and firewood activities.
Operations typically take place after snowfall for safety reasons. Firefighters will ignite and closely monitor pile-burning activities, which should not affect public access or use of these areas. For more information, contact the Columbine District Office at 884-1425
