Durango High School and district staff celebrated the successes of eight students recently recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Program, which is the most students recognized in a school year for DHS.
About 20% of the student base participated in the 2018 SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Of those, DHS had eight place in the top 50,000 and received a commendation, and Madeleine Burns became a semifinalist to go on to potentially receive a scholarship.
The commended students are: Rebecca Bowers, Clara Galbraith, Anna Klumpenhower, Carson Matz, Irie Sentner, Kaylan Wait and Georgia Witchel.
