Durango will participate in this year’s Earth Hour, a global event that challenges people to turn off their lights for an hour at night and take part in community events, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday.
The event was started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia and the United States first participated in 2009, when New York City turned off its lights for an hour during the evening.
