The Southwest Colorado Small Business Development Center is sponsoring a half-day workshop called “Starting Your Own Business,” Wednesday at the Durango Public Library’s program room from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to an SBDC news release.

The fee is $25 or $20 for Durango Chamber of Commerce members.

The course is designed to tackle the difficulties, uncertainties and steps involved in starting a successful business, the release said.

Presenters include a small business specialist, a marketing expert, a small business banker, an attorney and an accountant.

The seminar also will cover business planning, finance options, legal structure, taxes, marketing and market research.
