8:02 a.m. A man and a woman were camping on someone’s vacant lot on River Road. Police made at least one arrest.

10:53 a.m. Someone reported an irate driver who was swerving in and out of traffic and flipped someone off on South Camino del Rio near Walmart.

11:46 a.m. There was an ongoing problem with graffiti appearing in the 700 block of Main Avenue.

12:15 p.m. A man was yelling at passersby in the 700 block of Main Avenue.

1:09 p.m. Two trucks were “playing tug of war” in the parking lot of the La Plata County Fairgrounds.

2:32 p.m. The vending machines in the lobby at Hampton Inn, 3777 Main Ave., were burglarized.

7:30 p.m. A man who appeared to be on drugs was trying to “ride” a bench in the 1000 block of Main Avenue.

7:49 p.m. Someone reported an open fire along the Animas River Trail behind Nature’s Oasis, 300 South Camino del Rio.

Wednesday

10:48 a.m. Two skateboards were left behind at a La Plata Electrical Association substation near Knolls Circle in the 2700 block of County Road 220, south of Elmore’s Corner.

1:05 p.m. Someone reported that a 7-year-old boy was refusing to get out of a tree near County Road 141 and County Road 136, near the top of Blue Hill southwest of Durango.

1:55 p.m. Someone reported a man on the Colorado Trail possibly engaging in indecent exposure near the trailhead.

2:59 p.m. Multiple mail thefts were reported in different locations around La Plata County.

6:24 p.m. Someone reported the driver of a red four-door Cadillac was smoking methamphetamine inside the vehicle near an entrance to Edgemont Ranch subdivision, northeast of Durango.

6:33 p.m. A four-wheeler was stolen overnight in the 200 block of County Road 233 in the Grandview area.

Firefighters and medics responded to five calls Wednesday, including a fire alarm in the 600 block of East Second Avenue and four medical calls.
