DAHLIA BLUE OGDEN

OGDEN

Durango native Dahlia Blue Ogden died Saturday, May 10, 2014, in Keystone. She was 22 months old. The cause of death was complications of Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a rare severe form of epilepsy she had suffered since her birth.

Dahlia was born to Neil Thomas and Courtney Anne (Jakobsen) Ogden on July 21, 2012, in Durango. Her family had moved to Denver from Bayfield to be closer to medical care for her. Her mother was a teacher at Bayfield Elementary School until she resigned to care for her daughter.

"In her much too short life, Dahlia touched the lives of many," according to her family.

Dahlia is survived by her parents of Denver; a 4-year old big brother, Nash Trevor Ogden, of Denver; grandparents Merle and Jean Patterson of Denver and Anthony and Kathleen Keenan of Cañon City; and uncles, aunts, cousins and extended family members.

A memorial service will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2014, at the Anchor Center for Blind Children, 2550 Rosslyn St., in Denver.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Anchor Center for Blind Children at www.anchorcenter.org or 2550 Rosslyn St., Denver, CO 80238.
