Best bets this weekend include the Powder Hounds Art Auction and the Durango Wedding Expo.
The opening event for the Powder Hounds Art Auction will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Animas Chocolate & Coffee Co., 920 Main Ave.
People can see all 20 unique snowboards and meet the artists who created them. Light appetizers, a cash bar and chocolate will be available. Robert Webster will provide live music.
Attendees will have the opportunity to place bids on a snowboard or purchase one with set pricing. The minimum bid is $100 per board. The silent auction will run through Feb. 2. All proceeds will benefit animals of the La Plata County Humane Society.
This is a free, family-friendly event open to the public.

The 19th annual Durango Wedding Expo will take place from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave.
The expo will feature aisles of ideas and inspiration, wedding planning workshops, food tastings, tablescapes, floral displays, mocktails, music and door prizes. Attendees can meet local industry professionals, view party trends for 2020 and visit with wedding vendors.
General admission is $10 per person at the door. Advance VIP tickets are $25.
