7:24 a.m. A man was sleeping in the courtyard of St. Marks Episcopal Church, 910 East Third Ave. Someone called about three hours later to report the man still there.

11:31 a.m. Someone reported seeing a person who had been tagging buildings with graffiti in the 1000 block of Narrow Gauge Avenue. Police made an arrest.

1:02 p.m. A woman had a stolen shopping cart near the trailhead at 120 Ella Vita Court. Someone later reported the woman took her belongings and left the cart near the trailhead.

3:02 p.m. A man wearing jeans and a red shirt was screaming near Junction Creek in Rank Park, 149 E. 22nd St.

3:30 p.m. A man was waving two metal pipes in the air at passing cars in the 900 block of Roosa Avenue.

3:58 p.m. A woman was assaulted by her 12-year-old stepson behind Walmart, 1155 South Camino del Rio.

4:47 p.m. Someone requested officers remove people who were playing music in front of Main Mall, 835 Main Ave.

6:25 p.m. A drunken man was sitting in the road at Ford Drive and New Mexico Avenue.

7:20 p.m. Someone reported that a boy who looked about 3 years old was walking by himself south along Main Avenue near Durango High School, 2390 Main Ave.

7:20 p.m. A woman reported her 4-year-old son missing at Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave.

7:25 p.m. Someone reported a drunken man stumbled about 70 yards down a ravine from Ella Vita trailhead.

9:31 p.m. A bear was getting into trash near residences in the 1900 block of Highland Avenue.

11:19 p.m. Someone reported a man creeping between cars in the parking lot of Mountain Sun Apartments, 1208 Florida Road. The man reportedly assaulted an officer and was arrested.

Saturday

2:56 a.m. A man attempted to break into a house in the 1600 block of Eastlawn Avenue.

10:27 a.m. Someone reported the windows of a house had been broken from a possible burglary at 200 East Third Avenue.

3:57 p.m. A red Dodge pickup truck was swerving, hit a curb and almost rear-ended someone on Jameson Drive. Police made an arrest.

5:45 p.m. A drunken man was being belligerent outside someone’s house in the 100 block of Ella Vita Court. Police made an arrest.

Sunday

1:53 a.m. A group of 20 intoxicated people were trying to fight each other in the 600 block of Main Avenue.

2:43 a.m. Someone reported that a woman was screaming and crying at a party in the 1000 block of Animas View Drive. It was later reported that people at the party were screaming obscenities at the person who reported the noise disturbance.

3:35 a.m. A 24-year-old man who was dizzy and not alert fell down some rocks toward the Animas River at Schneider Park, 950 Roosa Ave.

6:38 a.m. A woman was looking through people’s windows and asking them to “stay there,” according to a report at the End-O-Day Motel, 350 East Eighth Ave.

12:56 p.m. Someone reported that suspicious activity was occurring in the men’s restroom at Schneider Park, 950 Roosa Ave.

3:17 p.m. A drunken man was yelling at people on the Animas River Trail in the 1200 block of Camino del Rio.

5:21 p.m. A man reported his house had been trashed, possibly by his two ex-girlfriends, in the east 300 block of Third Street.

8:26 p.m. A man bit someone in the 500 block of East Second Avenue. Police made an arrest.

8:49 p.m. A man was being combative and broke glass in the quiet room at Detox of La Plata County, 1125 Three Springs Blvd.

Durango Fire

Firefighters and medics responded to 36 calls Friday through Sunday, including six people who fell, two breathing problems, an assault, a gas leak outside, a gas odor investigation, a report of smoke outside, a brush fire and three other types of fires.
