San Juan College Orchestra will present its virtual Fall End-of-Semester Student Showcase at 7 p.m. Friday.
The orchestra, conducted by associate professor of Music Teun Fetz, features 24 string players, including many dual-credit students. Pieces will include compositions by Beethoven, Elgar, Holst, Ravel, Telemann and Warlock. Because of the ensemble size limits and spacing, this is a string orchestra only and includes no winds or percussion.
The series was pre-recorded and will be streamed via www.sanjuancollege.edu, www.facebook.com/SanJuanCollege and www.facebook.com/ksje90.9.
No audience was permitted access to the classrooms, and social distancing and other health and safety requirements were observed. All of these events were pre-recorded in a COVID-19-safe manner. Face masks were worn when possible and when musical instruments were not in play.
