Things to do in and around the Durango area

The Crags playing the Balcony Backstage

Longtime local favorites The Crags are playing this weekend at the Balcony Backstage.

Front woman Tracy Ford – who’s also resident songwriter and rhythm guitarist, Dan Leek on upright bass, Jim Ford on drums and Tim Lilyquist on lead guitar, run the gamut of genres during their shows – they’ll hit you with everything from retro rock to surfabilly to alt-country and everything in between.

The Crags take the stage at 9 p.m. Saturday at the Balcony, 600 Main Ave.

For more information, call 422-8008.

The Mobros at Crash Music in Aztec

The Mobros, made up of brothers Kelly and Patrick Morris – Morris Brothers, Mobros – get it? are taking on Aztec Saturday night at Crash Music, 104 N. Main Ave.

The brothers, originally from rural South Carolina, both started instruments when they were kids – Kelly on guitar, Patrick on drums – and over the years have perfected their brand of roots rock, blues, Americana and soul. They were also a opener for some of B.B. King’s shows – not too shabby.

Local trio Old Dog Tre is the night’s opening band. The show will start at 7:30 p.m., and beer, wine and sandwiches will be available.

Tickets are $15 and are available at crashmusicaztec.com or by calling (505) 427-6748.

Singer/songwriter playing Four Leaves

Durangoan singer/songwriter Hannah Liberman is playing Friday at Four Leaves Winery, 528 Main Ave.

Liberman’s been playing guitar since she was 5 and started performing at 14, when, she said, she became hooked on sharing her voice and soul. Her sound is an intermingling of jazz, blues and folk, being inspired by Ray LaMontagne, Nina Simone, Martha Scanlan and Bob Dylan.

Liberman will play from 6 to 8 p.m.

For more information, call 403-8182.

This story has been corrected from an earlier version to reflect that Hannah Liberman will play at Four Leaves Winery Friday.
