Police find no motive in D.C. chase case

WASHINGTON – Police found no weapon or apparent evidence of motive while searching the car of a woman who was fatally shot by police after trying to ram her vehicle through a White House barrier, according to court documents unsealed Tuesday.

Search warrant results show police who inspected a lockbox inside Miriam Carey’s black Infiniti found a passport, a plastic bag containing various foreign currency, a driver’s license and Socia Security cards for her and her daughter.

Carey, 34, of Stamford, Conn., was shot after a high-speed police chase Thursday.

Eight House members arrested at protest

WASHINGTON – At least eight Democratic members of the House were among about 200 people arrested Tuesday after they blocked a main street near the Capitol during a massive rally seeking to push Republicans to hold a vote on a stalled immigration-reform bill.

Police would not identify who was arrested.

Those arrested at the rally will be charged with “crowding, obstructing and incommoding” under the local laws of the District of Columbia, the Capitol Police said.
