La Plata County Democrats will discuss democracies in decline at their monthly luncheon from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at DoubleTree Hotel, 501 Camino del Rio.
The speaker will be Paul LaBell, a board member of Colorado ACLU and an assistant professor at Fort Lewis College. His presentation, “Democracy Backsliding: Lessons from Hungary,” will cover the gradual undermining of the institutions and rights that rule by the people require.
Everyone is welcome.
