Atmos Energy recently launched its “Sharing the Warmth” program, which rounds up the natural gas bills of participating members to donate the difference to local assistance agencies that help elderly, disabled, veteran and family communities pay for gas bills.
“Last year, we assisted more than 12,000 customers with their natural gas bills,” Dan Alderson, customer advocacy manager, said in a news release. “If your total bill is $22.80 then 20 cents would go toward our Sharing the Warmth program, and those pennies can really make a difference.”
The program is supported by Atmos employees, shareholders and matching funds.
