To improve the quality of rights of way, parks and open spaces in the Durango’s parks system, the city recently contracted with Pride Weed Control to spray for noxious weed abatement Sept. 25 through Oct. 5, weather permitting.
Areas to be sprayed include: Florida Road and adjacent sidewalks, Confluence Park and area sidewalks, Three Springs Southern Open Space and SkyRidge Open Space.
Herbicides include Sahara and a combination of 2,4-D and dicamba.
Weed-control methods are tested and approved by the Environmental Protection Agency, and Pride Weed Control is licensed by Colorado Department of Agriculture.
