Oxbow Park and Preserve will remain closed until further notice because of construction that obstructs access to the Animas River. An alternate route was provided in the spring, before flooding, but this route remains underwater.
Interior trails of both Oxbow Park and the Preserve are still underwater or have been washed out because of high water conditions. The alternate route will be monitored weekly in hopes of restoring access to portions of Oxbow Park and Preserve as soon as possible.
For the safety of the public, it is important to respect the closure as heavy equipment is active within the construction area throughout the duration of construction.
