Developing Urban Single track Trail and Teams (DUST2) is raising funds to hire renowned trail builder Tony Boone for its proposed urban single-track trail in Pagosa Springs.
Boone has helped crews build more than 500 miles of shared-use and purpose-built trails for all abilities. He will be in Pagosa Springs Sept. 23-24, and there will be several chances to meet him. DUST2 will also let the public walk the newly flagged Phase 1 trail and discuss the group’s urban single-track initiative on those dates.
To fund the project, DUST2 hopes to raise $3,600 by holding the Backyard Mountain Bike Race Series. The races, held in Pagosa Springs, will allow riders to accumulate points for participation and finishing place. There will be multiple prizes at the series’ conclusion.
Visit www.dustx2.com for the race schedule and other information.
