In light of the 416 Fire and ongoing fire concerns in general, Dalton Ranch Golf Club has taken responsible action. Although smoking has not been permitted inside any club building for quite some time, it was permitted outside the buildings and on the course (which is outside the Durango city limits). The management and ownership has now informed members of the following, excerpted from a June 15 email:
“Given the dry conditions and location of the club, Dalton Ranch is adopting a No Smoking policy on property including the golf course, driving range, and in and around any buildings.”
The club management and owners should be commended for this action for the greater good of our community. Hopefully, others will follow.
