Fort Lewis College’s men’s and women’s basketball teams will welcome the Westminster Griffins to Whalen Gymnasium on Saturday. The Skyhawks and Griffins women will open the action with a 5:30 p.m. tip, and the men are scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
The FLC men have won 10 games in a row and 20 consecutive against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference opponents. At Whalen, the No. 18 Skyhawks (10-1, 5-0 RMAC will look to extend the school-record 23-game home win streak.
In Tuesday’s win at Adams State, Joshua Blaylock and Rasmus Bach each had 26 points to lead FLC in its third win over a five-night span.
The Griffins (4-3, 3-1 RMAC) come into the matchup having won four of their last five games. The team’s nine-point win Friday at Adams State is it’s smallest margin of victory in those games as they steamrolled Western State and Colorado Mesa by 21 points and beat New Mexico Highlands by 19. Dayon Goodman leads the Griffins averaging 16 points per game.
The Fort Lewis women are coming off two road wins at Western State and Adams State. Briana Clah leads FLC (7-2, 3-2 RMAC) averaging 12 points per game. Alyssa Yocky is also averaging in double figures and has registered two doubles-doubles already this season.
Westminster’s women are led by Sydnee Taylor’s 13 points per game. The Griffins (5-4, 3-2 RMAC) have won four of their last six and beat Adams State by nine on Friday.
