Increased logging raises risk to drivers on Lone Dome Road

The San Juan National Forest encourages drivers to use caution this summer on Forest Road 504, known as the Lone Dome Road, because of increased logging truck activity.

The road is accessed from the Bradfield Bridge northwest of Dolores.

An alternative route from Dolores to the Glade area is the Dolores-Norwood Road (Forest Road 526) north to Forest Road 514, then 514 to the Glade.

Another route to the Dolores River Canyon is Forest Road 514 to the Ormiston Point Road (521).

For more information, call the Dolores Ranger District at 882-7296.
