Thanks to all who came out on the snowy roads and sidewalks for the 10th annual Diversity Dialogue with a big shout out to all the youths who came to attend – your participation is recognized and appreciated!
Our appreciation also goes to everyone who brought food to donate to the La Plata Family Center’s food pantry.
The dialogue is coordinated by the Embracing Diversity Initiative, a youth-adult partnership that facilitates diversity workshops to promote intercultural understanding and personal/organizational growth.
Our grateful thanks go to this year’s sponsor, the Durango Community Relations Commission, with special thanks to Sodexo Campus Dining for meals and bread for their always wonderful cookies. Partners to thank and appreciate for their ongoing support include: the Prejudice Elimination Action Team at Durango High School, Common Ground and El Centro de Muchos Colores at Fort Lewis College, and the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Durango. Special guest presenters Rachel Turiel, Hazel Botha, and Kati Harr are warmly thanked for their session on nonviolent communication.
