Monea Monroe and Stephanie Aubert look up information Saturday as they check out the Southwest Seed Lending Library at Turtle Lake Refuge’s first Seed Exchange event. The exchange is open for the public to come and exchange or borrow seeds. Turtle Lake employee Elisa Sands says it essentially works like a library. People can check out seeds, grow a plant and then harvest seeds from that to return to the library. Employees ask only that seeds be pesticide free and not be genetically modified. The Seed Lending Library will continue through the year at the Discovery Museum starting March 23.
