The Pine River Library will welcome authors David Feela and John Christian Hopkins, the next installment in the "Amazing Author" series, at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9. Feela and Hopkins will host a literary "comedy night" at the library.
"We're looking forward to hosting a comedy event at the library!" said Library Director Shelley Walchak. "David Feela and John Christian Hopkins are excellent speakers and all around funny guys."
David Feela is a retired high school English teacher who lives and writes in Cortez. He produces monthly columns for the Four Corners Free Press and Durango Telegraph. His book, Thought Experiments, won the Southwest Poet Series, and his latest book of essays, How Delicate These Arches, was chosen as a finalist for the Colorado Book Award.
John Christian Hopkins is a Narragansett journalist, author, poet, teacher, humorist, and public speaker who resides in Arizona. Growing up in Westerly, RI, Hopkins transported his unique New England accent to the Southwest. His writings are sometimes poignant, sometimes funny and irreverent. They include the novels Twilight of the Gods and Two Guns, and Rhyme or Design: Narragansett Poetry. His columns can be found in the Four Corners Free Press and his radio show on KXAZ in Page, AZ.
