La Plata County Historical Society thanks everyone who participated in the recent Tacoma History Train. The event supported the Animas Museum, which is owned and operated by the society. We sincerely thank the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, Al Harper and his helpful staff and crew, Jeff Wilbanks and John Ickes for their special tour, and Xcel Energy for the tour of the plant and surrounding property.
Our passengers especially enjoyed the historic narratives of Susan Jones and Charles DiFerdinando during their ride.

Durango Education Foundation board and staff would like to thank Blair and Walter Matlock for the tremendously successful fundraiser they facilitated at their store throughout April, and the many customers who donated to DEF. Know Your Dough, a local nonprofit that provides financial literacy for youth and young adults, would like to thank Vectra Bank for their recent sponsorship of programs at Sunnyside Elementary School and Florida Mesa Elementary School.
